On The Monarch Butterfly Life Cycle

Monarch butterflies have captured the imaginations of people all over North America. They are used in classrooms to teach science, geography, art, math and writing. They find their way into fairs, nature centers and public places to help people make connection with the natural world. They are used in hospitals, dialysis clinics, hospice, and Alzheimer clinics to bring us the metaphors in life that we need during major transitions.

I am offering the series of posters shown below, as well as a related coloring page as an introduction to monarchs in my community in Monroe County West Virginia. These posters will be available here for any teachers, monarch enthusiasts or interested persons to use. Versions are also available that do not use Monroe County in the title for folks who want to use them in other places. I ask only that you reproduce them intact with my copyright and contact information. You can view them and download them using the links below. —Ba Rea
